Siivoaminen eteerisillä öljyillä

brush-15931_960_720

Oletko valmis kokeilemaan öljyjä?

Jes! Kaikkien lempiaihe siivoaminen!

Millaisia siivoustuotteita sitten tarvitset kotiisi? Hmm, aikalailla samoja kun isomummosi. Eli: ruokasoodaa, etikkaa, castile soap:ia (esim. Dr. Bronner’s baby, nestemäinen versio Marseille-saippuasta tai Do Terran Onguard) ja merisuolaa. Osassa resepteissä saatetaan käyttää pesusoodaa (astianpesukonetabletit tai jauhemainen tiskiaine) tai oliivi-tai kookosöljyä.

Parhaita eteerisiä öljyjä siivoamiseen:

-Sitruuna, Lime ja  Villi appelsiini

-Eukalyptus ja Tea Tree

-Timjami ja Piparminttu

-Do Terralta löytyy öljysekoituksia, kuten: Onguard- tuotteet ja Purify -sekoitus

Minun luottoyleispesuaineeni resepti (vanhaan ruiskupulloon):

  • 1/4 osaa Castile soap/nestemäinen Marseille/Onguard yleispesuaine

Cleaning with essential oils

Are you ready for essential oils?

Yes! Everybody’s favourite topic: Cleaning! So exciting and wonderful! Especially in a family with small kids and pets, where you get to do it almost non stop. What new can essential oils bring to cleaning? Quite a lot!

A lot of people suffer from cleaning head ache and no! It’s not emotional! When you inhale chemicals couple of hours, it’s no wonder if you start to feel it. Because Do Terra’s essential oils are completely natural without anything extra added to them, you and your family  will not inhale any extra toxic chemicals.

As a mother to a toddler it feels good, that my child can’t find anything toxic from the cupboards, even if they get it in their mouth or eyes. Essential oils are strong, but the amount in your self-made cleaning product is small. Kids are also very sensitive to chemicals when they are developing. The research show that different chemicals disturb their neurological development and immune system. Kids also inhale more frequently than adults so the amount of chemicals they get compared to their body weight is much bigger. According to United States Environmental Agency the air at home is 200-500% more polluted than outside, because the house cleaners.

Because you need very little essential oils for your self-made cleaning products (few drops), the cost of the cleaner stays low. Essential oils are powerful and remove dirt well and before all remove unwanted smells. Products are also environmentally friendly. I use the same jars and bottles for my self-made cleaners time and time again (bottle for my laundry detergent, liquid dish soap and my water sprayer).

So what kind of cleaning products do you need for your home? Hmm. Same kind as your great grand mother. Which means: Baking soda, vinegar, Castile Soap (Dr Bronner’s baby, liquid form of Marseille soap or Do terra’s Onguard) and sea salt. In some of the recipes you see people using washing soda (dish tablets and dish powder) or olive and coconut oil.

Best essential oils are for cleaning:

-Lemon, Lime and Wild Orange

–  Eucalyptus and Tea Tree

-Thyme and Peppermint

-Do Terra also has oil blends like: Onguard and Purify blends

My favourite recipe for all-purpose cleaner ( I put it in an old spray bottle):

  • 1/4 Castile Soap/ Liquid Marseille Soap/ Do Terra’s Onguard
  • 1/4 Apple cider vinegar
  • rest water
  • 5 drops of Lemon oil and 5 drops of peppermint (if you used other vinegar than apple cider you can add third oil)

Good carrier oils for your essential oils

Are you ready for the world of essential oils?

When you have been testing out your essential oils, you might stop and wonder what would be the best carrier oil? People use different vegetable and nut oils as carrier oils that dilute the essential oils that are full of power. You should always dilute your essential oils to avoid skin irritation. Especially with kids, seniors and people with sensitive skin diluting is always recommended. I always dilute my essential oils on my skin, except maybe with mosquito bites (I’ll put a drop of tea tree oil on the bite). Skin absorbs the essential oils very effectively, so you don’t have to worry about diluting. You will get the benefit from your essential oils! Using carrier oils also gives you also an opportunity to get great benefits from the carrier oils.

Wheat germ oil

There is a lot of vitamins B and E in a wheat germ oil. Vitamin E prevent skin cells from aging, so it goes together beautifully with frankincense oil that does wonders to the cells. In a massage you mix wheat germ oil 10% of your other carrier oil and add two drops of essential oils. Calming lavender is always great in skin care.

Avocado oil

Avocado has a lot of vitamins A, B and D in it that are all beneficial to the skin. Avocado oil has a strong sent, so you should mix it 5-10% of your other carrier oil. Just add two drops of your essential oils and your self-made avocado oil mixture is ready to work for you! Avocado oil is great for people who are allergic to wheat so they can’t use wheat germ oil.

Jojoba oil

My own favourite for the face! Jojoba oil is not really an oil, but a liquid wax, that is gained from  Simmondsia Schinensis seeds. Jojoba is amazing for the dry and atopic skin. It works so effectively! You should mix jojoba oil at the most 10% of your other carrier oil. Jojoba oil is great for long and dry hair. You can get a great oil treatment for your hair with just mixing jojoba oil to some other carrier oil and adding two drops of your favourite essential oils.

Grape seed oil

Grape seed oil absorbs very well to your skin. It is very clean and light. Grape sead oil is great for young and acne skin. Tea tree, lavender (calming) and lemon oils (if you want to cleanse) go together well with grape sead oil if you have the skin with impurities.

Almond oil

Almond oil is great for people with sensitive skin. People with sensitive skin can tolerate almond oil usually well. Almond oil is also great for aging and wrinkly skin. Sweet almond oil has vitamins A, B and little bit E. Almond oil also had fat acids in it.

Bath oil

You can use the same mixing ratio in bath oil as in massage oil. Three essential oils are recommended at the most in a bath at the same time to maximise the aromatic impact. If you would like to influence your mood, you can select essential oils based on that or thinking of your skin care for instance.
