Leaves on trees, some flowers are starting to bloom and more light! I love it! I made my self a natural scalp spray to freshen up and cool my scalp.
Years ago I had to reduce the amount of chemicals in my hair and scalp. My scalp started to regurlarly get irritated with hair coloring, dry shampoo and all the chemicals I was dumpig on it. Sometimes it still gets dry and irritated. This has been a wonderdul recipe for me and my son, who has the same problem sometimes. You can apply it to dry or wet scalp.
Easy natural scalp spray recipe (shake always before use):
In my last post I posted a recipe for DIY all natural parfume. The carrier oil can be other than fractionated coconut oil, just make sure that the essential oils consist of what they are supposed to (Check out my video, why I only use doTerra).
In this video (I talk Finnish, but you can mute it) I use doTerra’s Ylang Ylang, Lemon grass and fractionated coconut oil. I use the recipe mentioned in the beginning.
Just when I thought that the flu season was over and getting rid of my hay fever, I got the worst flu and my throat was really bad. I had also horrible ear ache, even though my ear was complitely healthy. My doctor forgot to give me any meds, but not to worry I had some of my own! I used doTerra’s Breath essential oil blend in my diffuser, that has peppermint, eucalyptus, lemon and melaleuca in it. Internally I used (and still use until I’m 100%) doTerra’s Onguard capsules, that improve immune defence.
For the skin, I found this great recipe (you can mix all of these things into a 10 ml glass roller bottle):
1 drop of doTerra’s Frankincense oil
1 drop of doTerra’s Oregano oil
2 drops of doTerra’s Onguard oil
2 drops of doTerra’s Melaleuca oil (tea tree oil)
Mix fractionated coconut oil to the rest of the bottle or some other carrier oil.
I thought about giving tips this week for natural pain relief and boosting your immune system. Essential oils are very strong, that’s why you should be very careful with them. Make sure that the essential oils that you use are safe to use internally. 37 essential oils from doTerra can be used internally at the moment. Couple of drops go a long way!
You can mix essential oils to your smoothies or tea or add them to veggie capsules. Make sure you get your veggies capsules from a trusted place. Veggie capsules can be taken couple of times a day. doTerra recommends for an adult 12-24 drops of essential oils in 24 hours/ 2-4 drops at a time. You can always also apply the essential oils on to your skin diluted with carrier oil. I use the essential oils mostly like that.
Bomb for boosting immune system
For one veggie capsule:
1 drop of doTerra’s Onguard oil blend
1 drop of oregano oil
1 drop of lemon oil
Exploding the pain away
For one veggie capsule (you can take it in every 6-8 hours)
Here is a natural recipe for tangled hair. It works very well for kid’s hair and fine hair quality. This recipe can be done without essential oils, but I like lavender for this. Vegetable glycerin gives little structure for the hair.
Essential oils are best to be stored in glass bottle in the dark. I use plastic little spray bottle for this and make a new batch every few weeks. Shake before use.
Happy spring time! Recipes for the nail and cuticle oils are in my last blog. You can blend both oils in a spoon or a small jar and rub them straight in to your nails and cuticles or put them into a small glass jar or roller bottle. As a carrier oil you can use olive, jojoba or coconut oil. In a vlog I speak Finnish, but you can easily watch this muted, it is just a small demonstration 🙂
I found a great natural cough syrup recipe that is more gentle to the stomach and to your whole system than the chemical version. I just read a study that said that chemical cough medicines don’t even work 😦 Honey has great health benefits for those who suffer from cough and flu, which I also go through in the vlog.
Greetings from Gran Canary! I was enjoying the sun with my toddler. You can’t really blame me, I live in Finland 🙂 But now I’m back with the vlogs and I gave yesterday some recipes for foot baths. In the vlog I go through the recipes and explain why the essential oils are there. I also talk more about geranium and give some tips for acne.
I made a vlog, where I talk about two recipes for natural cleaning products. I tried couple days ago a self-made oven cleaner, that I thought was pretty good. I tried it for my stove. For years I have used my natural homemade all-purpose cleaner and it works great for my family with a kid and cats.
