Recipes for taking essential oils internally

Hello everyone!

I thought about giving tips this week for natural pain relief and boosting your immune system. Essential oils are very strong, that’s why you should be very careful with them. Make sure that the essential oils that you use are safe to use internally. 37 essential oils from doTerra can be used internally at the moment. Couple of drops go a long way!

You can mix essential oils to your smoothies or tea or add them to veggie capsules. Make sure you get your veggies capsules from a trusted place. Veggie capsules can be taken couple of times a day. doTerra recommends for an adult 12-24 drops of essential oils in 24 hours/ 2-4 drops at a time. You can always also apply the essential oils on to your skin diluted with carrier oil. I use the essential oils mostly like that.

Bomb for boosting immune system

For one veggie capsule:

1 drop of doTerra’s Onguard oil blend

1 drop of oregano oil

1 drop of lemon oil

 

Exploding the pain away

For one veggie capsule (you can take it in every 6-8 hours)

1 drop of lemon grass oil

1 drop of frankincense oil

1 drop of marjoram oil

for one veggie capsule:

2 drops of frankincense oil

2 drops of marjoram or oregano oil

Different problems with feet

Celluses, infected bunions and ingrown toenails can be painful, even every day. Especially if you work on your feet. You can relief problems with feet with essential oils, walking bare foot and going to pedicurist.

Calluses

Calluses are thickened skin and dead skin cells. There can be a hard core in the calluse that is from dead skin cells and points to live tissue. That can cause pain, when it hits nerves. Rub few drops of lemon oil to the calluse. Cover it with something for 20 minutes.

Calluses in feet and hands

Calluses that don’t have hard core, don’t often hurt, unless they are in a difficult spot. They might cause the feet to get more tired also. Calluses may cause the weight not to get evenly distributed. People who work with their hands or play instruments can get calluses in their hands. You can treat them same way with lemon oil.

Infected bunion

Infected bunion is located in the side of the big toe. It can be red or soar. Some people get their bunion infected more easily in wrong kid of shoes. Two drops of tea tree oil will help with treating broken skin. You can also put your feet in the hot water, where there is few drops of tea tree oil.

Ingrown toenails

Ingrown toenails can press against skin tissue that can cause pain and inflammation. Sometimes right cutting technique can help with the problem. Don’t cut the toenails too short and always cut them straight horizontally. Don’t make them round in the edges. You can soak inflamed toenail in a hot water that has few drops of tea tree oil.

Tips for taking care of your feet:

  • Soften your calluses in a hot water and try to reduce them softly with foot scraper.
  • By adding two drops of lavender to coconut oil, you can get a wonderful foot lotion.
  • You can pirk up your feet by putting two drops of peppermint oil to your foot lotion/coconut oil.
  • If you suffer from sweaty feet, bathe your feet daily in a sea salt water. You can add two drops of eucalyptus/ peppermint.
  • You can increase the blood stream in your feet by rubbing them. While you put your lotion in them, rub them at the same time.

Essential oils for athletes

The World Championships for athletes made me think about athletes and essential oils. How could an athlete or somebody who enjoys exercising use their oils? Here are some tips:

  • Relax achy or tired muscles and joints

Peppermint can be used to relax achy muscles and joints. Take couple of drops of peppemint (or doTerra’s Deep Blue oil blend) and mix it to coconut oil or some other carrier oil and massage it to the place you need. You can drink doTerra’s Peppermint oil by adding a drop to water or some other drink. Lavender can be used to relax and recover tired muscles.

  • Boost immune support

Clover and Frankincense has been proven to add white cell account in the laboratories, which helps your body to fight germs. You can add two drops, diluted with carrier oil to your wrists or bottom of your feet, for example. Frankincense also renews cells, so I put a couple of drops to it to my face every evening, double effect!

  • Clean sports gear in a non toxic way

Especially if you have a man in your life who loves to exercise, you may have noticed that sports gear brings extra odor in to your life. Lemon oil disinfects shoes, ends of the clubs and helmets, where there is bacteria. You can either wipe with a cloth with a couple of drops of lemon oil in it or make your own spray with lemon oil, water and maybe some castile soap (or doTerra’s cleaning concentrate). Lemon makes stains fade in the sun, but it can also dilute colors, so be careful with that. If you want to make your whites whiter, that’s a good tip for that purpose. The smell of lemon, makes the sport gear smell nicer.

  • Avoid athlete’s foot and nail fungus or treat them

If you have ever suffered from athlete’s foot or nail fungus, you know those are nasty. Wiping your toe nails and feet with couple of drops of tea tree oil (Melaleuca) you can improve your chances with fight against bacteria. Swimming or showering in public places increases your chances in getting skin infections. Tea tree oil has been used since 1920’s in Australia to treat skin infections. I swim a lot in swimming halls. If I have any cuts in my feets or near my toe nails, I clean them with tea tree oil after to make sure I don’t get any infections.
