New flu recipe with essential oils

Hello!!

Just when I thought that the flu season was over and getting rid of my hay fever, I got the worst flu and my throat was really bad. I had also horrible ear ache, even though my ear was complitely healthy. My doctor forgot to give me any meds, but not to worry I had some of my own! I used doTerra’s Breath essential oil blend in my diffuser, that has peppermint, eucalyptus, lemon and melaleuca in it. Internally I used (and still use until I’m 100%) doTerra’s Onguard capsules, that improve immune defence.

For the skin, I found this great recipe (you can mix all of these things into a 10 ml glass roller bottle):

  • 1 drop of doTerra’s Frankincense oil
  • 1 drop of doTerra’s Oregano oil
  • 2 drops of doTerra’s Onguard oil
  • 2 drops of doTerra’s Melaleuca oil (tea tree oil)

Mix fractionated coconut oil to the rest of the bottle or some other carrier oil.

Homemade cough syrup

Mix to a table-spoon of honey:

  • 1 drop of doTerra’s lemon oil
  • 1 drop of doTerra’s wild orange
  • 1 drop of doTerra’s frankincense
  • 1 drop of doTerra’s peppermint

Recipes for taking essential oils internally

Hello everyone!

I thought about giving tips this week for natural pain relief and boosting your immune system. Essential oils are very strong, that’s why you should be very careful with them. Make sure that the essential oils that you use are safe to use internally. 37 essential oils from doTerra can be used internally at the moment. Couple of drops go a long way!

You can mix essential oils to your smoothies or tea or add them to veggie capsules. Make sure you get your veggies capsules from a trusted place. Veggie capsules can be taken couple of times a day. doTerra recommends for an adult 12-24 drops of essential oils in 24 hours/ 2-4 drops at a time. You can always also apply the essential oils on to your skin diluted with carrier oil. I use the essential oils mostly like that.

Bomb for boosting immune system

For one veggie capsule:

1 drop of doTerra’s Onguard oil blend

1 drop of oregano oil

1 drop of lemon oil

 

Exploding the pain away

For one veggie capsule (you can take it in every 6-8 hours)

1 drop of lemon grass oil

1 drop of frankincense oil

1 drop of marjoram oil

OR

for one veggie capsule:

2 drops of frankincense oil

2 drops of marjoram or oregano oil

Naturally healthy digestion

Healthy digestion effects on so many things: Food allergies, healthy immune system, quality of sleep, voice etc. In Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda diet healthy digestion is thought to be very important. We often eat too fast processed food and don’t exercise enough.

They recommend in Ayurveda diet lemon and ginger before main meals to activate salivary glands for good digestion. I’ve been drinking hot lemon water first thing in the morning for years. I have noticed that it’s good for my sensitive stomach before food.

Prebiotics and probiotics

In the West doctors stress the importance of fiber. Nutritional therapists in Finland recommend that people would get  25-30 grams of fiber a day. Many people don’t get that. Eating whole wheat will help with that.

Nutritional therapist also recommend prebiotics. They are components of food that haven’t been digested. You can get them from fruit and vegetables. They add good bacteria in the gut and they are food for probiotics. 80% of your immune system happens in your intestines. Probiotics are also very important. You can get them from yogurt and fermented food like sauerkraut and kimchi.

 

Nutritional therapist recommend drinking enough water for those who suffer from bad digestion. The recommendation is 1-1,5 liters a day. In Chinese medicine and indian Ayurveda diet they don’t recommend cold water like we are used to in the West. They feel that the water should be warmer than from the fridge.

Cleansing and improving immune system

Cleansing and fasting is so popular nowadays. I have never really tried that. I decided however to try doTerra’s GX assist cleansing and PB Assist for 10 days each. GX Assist has essential oils in it that cleans intestines and then PB Assist offers probiotics.

The first day I had taken GX Assist, my sensitive stomach was bubbling for sure. After that I didn’t notice anything. I will probably blog after a while and let you guys now, how my trial went and did I notice any changes.

DIY liquid hand soap

I have used homemade hand soaps for years. Natural liquid hand soaps are quick and easy to make. I want to keep all the extra chemicals and additives away from my home. You get enough of them from outside of the home. Many 100% pure essential oils are naturally disinfecting and they bring a natural sent.  If you have a sensitive skin, lavender oil is a good choice. Lemon and peppermint are favourites for other people. If it’s the flu season, I use doTerra’s protective Onguard blend that has wild orange, clover, cinnamon and eucalyptus oil in it (or I use ready Onguard foaming hand soap).

Here is my recipe for self made liquid hand soap:

  • 1/3 of the bottle Castile soap (or other natural liquid soap/ doTerra’s cleaning concentrate)
  • 2/3 of the bottle distilled/filtered water
  • few drops of essential oils

You only need few drops for normal pump bottle.

Homemade stain remover

Hello guys!!

I gave yesterday my recipe for natural homemade stain remover. I made a video just to show how quick and easy it really it. If you are wondering about the Finnish labels in the packets, the white powder stuff is baking powder and “Vetyperoxidi 3%” is hydrogen peroxide. In Finland you can buy hydrogen peroxide from pharmacy or order online. I am not sure about brick and mortar stores in another countries. It’s good to water the fabric and put the stain remover both sides of the fabric.

DIY stain remover

If you want to reduce the amount of chemicals in your home or chemicals also give you a head ache like me, here is a recipe for DIY natural stain remover. (I made a blog post, where I talk more about natural cleaning earlier)

You will need:

  • Natural liquid soap (good ones are for example: Dr Bronner’s baby and doTerra’s Onguard cleaning concentrate)
  • Baking soda
  • hydrogen peroxide (in Finland you can get that from pharmacy)
  • airtight plastic or glass container, if you want to make more
  • lemon essential oil for smelly stains (or doTerra’s Purify oil blend)

Mix together 1/3 of your wanted amount liquid soap and 2/3 hydrogen peroxide. Add baking soda one table-spoon at a time until you have a paste. Add few drops of lemon essential oil.

Put a generous amount to the stain and use an old tooth-brush. Do both sides of the fabric. Leave it for an hour and then throw it to the washer. Make sure that the stain is gone before putting it to the drier (drier dries the stain really hard).

Natural cough syrup (vlog)

Hello!

I found a great natural cough syrup recipe that is more gentle to the stomach and to your whole system than the chemical version. I just read a study that said that chemical cough medicines don’t even work 😦 Honey has great health benefits for those who suffer from cough and flu, which I also go through in the vlog.
